Yet another short work of Gaskell a Gothic version . The story details the life of Anna Scherer with her abusive husband. A bit of a disturbing book . As always a great book to emphasize the flaws of youth With it’s load of emotion. One reviewer of this book mentioned there can be nothing more scary than man. And I totally agree with it adding the adjectives as an unsaved and unregenerated man.
