Yet another extremely moving book by Edith with object lesson. Wrong thought processess find their end in wrong results.
It details the life of a melancholic Ethan his wife Zeena and her cousin Mattie and their woven lives. Forbidden wishes and their end results in short. Maybe all that we wish for needn’t be what we would necessarily enjoy when reality hits.
Edith Wharton’s ability to write a realistic story without dramatic flairs and over emotional or preachy or dialogy characters make her an endearing author.
