The Rulers of India was a biographical book series edited by William Wilson Hunter and published from the Clarendon Press, Oxford,now not in print.You can get it on kindle or from the archives.
Robert Clive is a important figure of Indian history,as he was the one to bring Bengal under the rule of East Indian Company. His victory with the Carnatic wars and battle of Plassey (1757) helped the British to gain confidence to set firm foothold in the subcontinent.
The book details his early years,beginnings in Madras ,the Arcot Wars ,battle of Plassey,finally the politics that made charges against him, that ultimately got him sidelined.An interesting book for those interested in Indian history.
