Walter Scott was an author i stumbled across as I was reading another author with the same style of writing and hence My interest was piqued because of my love for historical fiction.
Historical fictional work enables us to understand and picturize an event or a time period in history.As mentioned this is a historical fiction hence it is not an accurate narration of history.
Ivan hoe tells the story of a knight who is out favor with his Saxon father for aligning with the Norman king King Richard Lion heart.The story follows the knights adventures as he comes back to his home country which is under a lot of unrest.An interesting read with tournaments,political maneuvering everything that describes that time period.All in all a good read.
