Book Review: Latin Literature: The Aeneid by Virgil

Recommended: High School and Over
This is a poem that tells the story of Aeneas, a Trojan who fled the fall of Troy and travelled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans. For me it felt like a cross between the Iliad and Odyssey. One Part consists of war and part consists of a long journey. The ever referenced Dido is one of the main character of this poem.
Aeneas leads the Trojans to settle in Latium, where King Latinus received oracles pointing towards the arrival of strangers and bidding him to marry his daughter Lavinia to the foreigners, and not to Turnus, the ruler of the Rutuli.
